Reports to: Satellite Operations Manager

 

JOB PURPOSE / ROLE

Within the Satellite Operations Department, the Spacecraft Control Engineer is a member of the Satellite Control Team. Working on

shift 24/7, he is responsible for the monitoring and control of the in‐orbit Es’hailSat satellites.

The Satellite Control Engineer covers several roles withing the Satellite Control Team:

  • Monitoring & Control Specialist
  • Ground System Specialist

 

Job Description

Monitoring & Control Specialist:

As a M&C Specialist, he will:

 

Monitor Satellite & Ground Systems by:

  • Ensuring the satellite fleet is behaving as expected using the satellite control center different software,
  • Monitoring & controlling TT&C equipment using monitoring control software associated   to each satellite,
  • Monitoring the IT network using monitoring tools,
  • Monitoring if any close approach is detected by the GMV focusOC service

 

 Execute Satellite Operations Procedures by:

  • Running satellite operation procedures using the automated or step‐by‐step manual procedures,
  • Following the process associated to each procedure,
  • Reporting in ServiceNow the execution of the procedures through Implementation Tasks.

 

Act as SatOps PoC for External & Internal Stakeholders by:

  •  Answering with professional and standardized manner to the phone within the satellite control center,
  •  Inviting the interlocutor to raise a Service Request for any questions or demand related to the satellite data

 

 Tracking Shift Activities & Events by:

  •  Populating the Shift Handover task in ServiceNow when starting the shift
  •  Communicating verbally a summary of the past shift activities and related incidents to the next shift.
  •  Populating the Logbook in ServiceNow with anything that is happening during the shift
  •  Attaching Incidents or Problems to the Logbook that has been raised and opened by during the shift,
  •  Attaching Changes performed during the shift,
  •  Attaching any related Tasks performed during the shift.

 

Ground System Specialist:

As Ground System Specialist, he will:

  •  Develop Ground System Procedures by:
  •  Writing ground operation procedures,
  •  Performing unit test on the procedure,
  •  Updating the related problem/change with the writing progress.

 

Validating Ground System Procedures by:

  •  Validating ground operation procedures using monitoring and control software as well  as ground systems user manual,
  •  Update the related problem and/or change on the validation progress.

 

 Performing Ground Systems Maintenance

  •  Performing regular ground system maintenance as per CONOPS,
  •  Reporting in ServiceNow the maintenance activities in the associated change.

 

Common activities of the role:

The following activities will relate to both roles:

  • Raising Incidents on ServiceNow,
  • Performing L0 or L1 Incident Investigation as appropriate by:
  • Following the incident management process,
  • Performing L0 or L1 investigations on any incidents.
  • Raising Problems on ServiceNow,
  • Raising Changes on ServiceNow as per the processes.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certificate/Diploma in Telecom, IT, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • 5 years or more of experience in Satellite Operations 24/7
  • Good understanding of more than 1 satellite subsystem,
  • Good understanding of ground systems (SCC architecture, SCC way of operating, TT&C RF chain)
  • Knowledge of Satellite Simulator Systems,
  • Knowledge of a Satellite Monitoring and Control system (EPOCH suite and/or hifly will be an advantage),
  • Knowledge of DS2000 platform from MELCO and SSL1300 from Maxar (former SSL) will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of ITSM concepts will be an advantage.

Reports to: Marketing Manager

 Market Research Analyst/Role:

The candidate should be an exceptional communicator and intuitively recognize patterns with a keen interest in providing purposeful and accurate insight into market trends, customer behavior and competitors’ strategies. The candidate should exhibit critical thinking skills, strong information gathering & presentation skills and a thorough attention to detail.

The job entails surveying information, creating reports, summarizing data with graphs and tables, and conducting effective research that will be presented with compelling data visualization. It additionally involves partaking in research projects, design surveys and present ideas and results.

Job Description

 Research and Analysis

• Qualitative and Quantitative Research

• Collect market information through a variety of sources

• Monitor and forecast marketing and sales trends

• Conduct competitive research and analyze benchmarking data

• Measure the effectiveness of marketing programs and strategies

• Devise methods for collecting data, such as surveys, questionnaires, and opinion polls

• Gather data about consumers, competitors, and market conditions and deliver regular reports

 Presentation of Information

• Ability to gather large amounts of data and convert it into meaningful analysis

• Convert complex data and findings into understandable tables, graphs, and written reports

• Extrapolate market trends and patterns from data analysis and suggests opportunities

• Consult with department head to prepare reports and present results to management

 Internal Liaison and Collaboration

 

• Maintain close liaison with Corporate Communications, Product Development, Sales, Technical and Strategy teams while conducting research and presenting relevant information.

 

Policies, Processes and Procedures

• Recommend improvements to marketing policy, processes and provide inputs to procedures and controls so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled while delivering quality market research in line with best practices.

Continuous Improvement

• Provide inputs and suggestions for the continuous improvement of Es’hailSat products and services considering best practices, changes in international standards, and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.

Management Reports

• Assist with the development of Marketing plans, accurate Management reports and provide timely feedback to the Manager, Marketing on market research initiatives.

Requirements

 

• Bachelor’s degree in market research, business, satellite communications or related field

• Master’s degree will be an advantage

• Experience as a marketing analyst and knowledge of current markets preferably in a large Satellite Operator, Satellite Market Research or Telecom company

• Proficient using Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

• Motivated self-starter with strong business acumen

• Organized and detail-oriented with a drive for excellence

• Must be a confident team player who enjoys collaboration

Job-Specific Skills

• Verifiable market analysis experience, at least 2 years

• Familiarity with search engines, business research tools and analytics

Reports to: Internal Audit Director

 

Job Purpose/Role:

The mission of the Internal Audit Department is to provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services to help the organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of internal control, governance processes and risk management.

Internal: Work closely with the Internal Audit Director and all related departments to ensure that the high standards of audit within Es’hailSat are maintained.

External: Liaise with QSC’s external auditors, Government Auditors and with Organization’s management as required and approved by the internal audit Director.

 

Job Description

  • Participate in risk assessment, planning, and execution of the audit plan including a review of all policies and procedures.
  • Leads the IT / Technical Audits in Es’hailSat, plans and executes assigned internal audits mainly in IT and Engineering areas as well as other operational areas, administrative activities, contracts, and major projects. 
  • Provides an independent opinion regarding the adequacy and effectiveness of management’s controls for safeguarding organization assets and for providing reliable information in IT / Technical audit areas.
  • Evaluates whether organizational units are performing their planning, accounting, operational, custodial, and control activities in compliance with management instructions, policies and procedures and in a manner consistent with approved objectives and high standards of business practice. 
  • Independently create audit programs, prepares and review working papers and develop final audit reports. 
  • Works with Organization Management to develop cost effective improvements and recommends the improvements to Management. 
  • Provide reports to management on the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control structure, along with practical recommendations to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and economic value of a control or process. 
  • Discuss and resolve audit issues and recommendations with management
  • Liaise with various departments in the identification and investigation of issues within the Organization, providing appropriate follow-up as required with the relevant department heads.
  • Monitor the progress of concurrent audits and provide Audit Management with status reports weekly and Provides direction and advice to the Internal Auditors in the Department

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An IT, business, engineering or relevant technical degree

 

Minimum Experience:

  • 6 to 10 Years of overall experience in Internal Audit with focus on “IT / Technical Audits, 5 Years of experience with Big 4 Audit Firms. Previous internal audit experience with a similar organization is definite advantage
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation or other relevant designation is a must

 

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Ability to work independently from planning to reporting in conducting IT / Technical audits with quality documentation in accordance to IIA Standards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of auditing standards and techniques. 
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. 
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with accounting software related to internal auditing
  • Experience in process documentation, risk assessment, audit planning/execution and report writing 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of management
  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism in all assigned duties.
