Reports to: Sales & Business Development Director

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Provide input towards the sales plan in order to ensure alignment of sales activities throughout the commercial department as well as the organization.
  2. Assist the sales executives in the achievement of their sales targets in order to ensure alignment to departmental plans and objectives.
  3. Identify key accounts/customers for ES’HAILSAT products and services
  4. Prepare structured account sales and service management plans for all key / VIP customers
  5. Respond to ad hoc customer queries and complaints and may be allocated a set of accounts to oversee.
  6. Makes telephone contact with allocated accounts and potential leads in order to achieve individual and team sales targets.
  7. Participates in regular sales team meetings in order to report progress, gain a wider appreciation of sales activities and contribute views on ways forward.
  8. Ensures accurate and timely completion of sales related administration in order facilitate the sale process.
  9. Analyses and meets evolving customer needs through relationship building.
  10. Carry out market research when needed and in collaboration with the sales engineer, and assist the sales executives in forecasting sales figures for the future in order to ensure informed decision making and plan capacity requirement as well as conduct target setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Electrical, Telecom or equivalent engineering qualification. Marketing specialization or Sales focus is a plus.

Background in telecommunication and satellite industry is preferred.

 

Minimum Experience:

5‐8 years of experience in engineering support for satellite companies. Qatari Nationals highly preferred

Reports to: Spectrum Management Director

JOB PURPOSE / ROLE:

Assist the Spectrum Management Director in Spectrum and Regulatory Engineering matters for ES’HAILSAT’s current and future programs through providing input toward and implementing the orbital and spectrum strategy, interfacing with the spectrum regulators (locally and internationally as needed) and liaising with ITU in order to ensure effective and efficient delivery of ES’HAILSAT services to all its customers and the achievement of the organizations overall strategic objectives. Responsible for daily activities pertaining to spectrum engineering.

Job Description:

  • Assist the Spectrum Management Director in the preparation of the spectrum management department budget and generate continuous reports in order to monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
  • Assist in the development of the long-term spectrum strategy for ES’HAILSAT
  • Assist the Spectrum Management Director in the process of spectrum analysis to identify potential opportunities for ES’HAILSAT, and coordinate with commercial departments to seek commercial economic and strategic future visibility, while working with the engineering and procurement department to ensure turning the potential opportunity into action and design and get exploited (implementation)
  • Interface with the spectrum regulators (locally and internationally) including ITU and conduct the filing activities with ITU and monitor the progress.
  • Ensure coordination with other satellite networks through periodic meetings and correspondence.
  • Assist the Spectrum Management Director and Legal department in managing the relations between ES’HAILSAT and the regulatory bodies to obtain the necessary approvals and licenses from the different regions and countries, so it could operate its satellites within the legal framework and be able to have an efficient and effective market access for ES’HAILSAT’s commercial activities. 
  • Develop in-house tracking tools for all correspondence with other administrations and with the ITU
  • Keep a track of filling activities and monitor progress. Highlight and plan activities in order to meet the regulatory milestones
  • Ensure ES’HAILSAT’s compliance with the applicable coordination agreements and ITU regulations and recommendations, so that ES’HAILSAT orbital assets and investments are protected and violations are prevented
  • Inform Spectrum Management Director of any deviations in compliance.
  • Assist the Spectrum Management Director in providing advice and continuous update to other departments within ES’HAILSAT on the application of the ITU Radio regulations and recommendations and reflect on the implications it would have on the satellite design, so that ES’HAILSAT is in full compliance with the international regulations and optimally placed in protecting its orbital assets and operations from any possible violations.
  • As needed, represent ES’HAILSAT in spectrum regulatory bodies and agencies, and assist in managing the relationship with ES’HAILSAT’s regulatory consultants, so that frequency and regulatory matters with ictQatar, ITU and other satellite operations are taken seriously, respected and complied with and the maximum efficiency is achieved.
  • As needed represent ES’HAILSAT at various workshops, conferences, and in discussions held at National and International forums whenever instructed to participate.
  • Under the supervision of the Spectrum Management Director, prepare the technical and regulatory basis in advance of negotiating agreements for regulatory licensing and in order to minimize risk and maximize benefits and meet or exceed ES’HAILSAT user requirements in terms of quality, support, and availability.
  • Prepare frequency coordination draft agreements and technical documentations to ITU.
  • Recommend improvements to spectrum management policies and implement procedures and controls so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service in line with best practice.
  • Provide inputs and suggestions for the continuous improvement of orbital and spectrum practices taking into account ‘best practice’, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.
  • Consolidate accurate Management reports to provide timely feedback to the Spectrum Management Director for monitoring the progress of ITU filings  and regulatory matters

Minimum Qualifications:

BS Electrical or Telecom Engineering or equivalent degree

Minimum Experience:

5 years or more in a cross functional satellite operations teams preferably with a top tier satellite services provider focusing on implementing long-term spectrum and orbital strategy and filing for licenses and approvals from government and international regulatory bodies.

Reports to: Teleport Site Manager

JOB PURPOSE / ROLE:

The role is responsible for ensuring that all teleport sites are functioning as per pre-defined standards and procedures through timely engineering interventions on hardware, installations and equipment. The role is responsible for ensuring smooth functioning of all teleports operations: testing equipment’s, installations and providing regular upgrades and repairs while also writing technical reports as and when required.

Job Description:

  • Ensures smooth function of teleport operations  Ensures effective RF signal monitoring with full coordination provided to the satellite coordinators.
  • Ensures maintenance for all uplink and downlink equipment and is responsible for routine checks of all related equipment and devices such as fibre optics, IRDs, encoders, routers, modulators, up-converters, LNBs, LNAs and HPAs.
  • Ensures that all maintenance and engineering service requirements like troubleshooting, repair, calibration and preventative maintenance of equipment and systems at the teleports are carried out effectively and diligently
  • Ensures that all engineering requirements is completed to ensure that all teleport sites have uplink and downlink resources available when required and to keep outage time to a minimum
  • Ensures that the teleport transmission and receive systems are compliant as per requirements set forth by approved regulatory bodies
  • Participates in the planning, installation and integration of new or replacement equipment and systems
  • Ensures all outgoing, and incoming signals and content are compliant with standards set forth by approved regulatory bodies
  • Ensures regular checks for quality control of installations equipment and documentation utilized by the teleports
  • Provides the highest quality of customer service to primary customers by responding to requests in a timely manner.
  • Thoroughly documents problems and issues in the operations.
  • Ensures timely and accurate completion on assigned projects including wire numbers, systems documentation, drawings, time sheets, time tracking and work orders
  • Implements all necessary, policies, processes, procedures and controls so that all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements are fulfilled
  • Prepares and consolidates accurate reports to provide timely feedback or analyses on Teleport sites, equipment’s, installations, planning operations etc.
  • Prepares reports in order to keep the relevant stakeholders aware of latest practices, news, developments that are of interest to them.

Minimum Qualifications:

BS Electrical or Telecom Engineering or equivalent degree

Minimum Experience:

3 to 5 years’ experience working with RF, high voltage, emergency power systems and high power RF amplifiers.

Reports to: Networks Operations - Executive Director

JOB PURPOSE / ROLE:

The role ensures all aspects of availability, performance and quality for a teleport site while also monitoring equipment and the infrastructure to ensure it continues to meet the required quality standards. The role will also be involved in initiating actions and taking steps in the event of disruptions in order to assure uninterrupted traffic handling , interface with Satellite Operators and with suppliers to ensure equipment is maintained for optimal performance and minimal risk of outage

Job Description

  • Reviews current installation and devises plans for completion, launch and also ensures routine maintenance
  • Operates and supports the Teleport Station equipment in accordance with the supplied equipment operating procedures
  • Monitor the performance of all satellite communication networks and also ensures the traffic monitoring process is as per pre-defined standards and procedures
  • Determines and investigates unusual system behavior, analyses the causes and takes the appropriate measures to take corrective actions
  • Initiates service recovery actions in accordance with the recovery and escalation procedure in the event of observed quality reduction
  • Performs tests to ensure system functionality and deploys immediate remedial action in the event of equipment failures at the site in accordance with the agreed procedures
  • Performs preventive maintenance in accordance with the supplied maintenance procedures
  • Supports site with Software and Hardware upgrades/replacements in accordance with the agreed procedures
  • In the event of a disaster, takes active steps and/or gives advice to maintain the continuity of satellite traffic
  • Support Sales team in commercial proposals preparation and also liaises with external suppliers for procurement specifications
  • Ensures that the process of up-linking signals and programs to the satellite are executed as per pre-defined protocol and quality measures
  • Coordinates the measurement of all carriers on satellites to ensure no interference or interruption in ES’HAILSAT’s transmission
  • Works with the telecom operators and the IT engineers to ensure the continuity of the connectivity service.
  • Coordinates with the Teleport Engineers for all technical issues required for the utilization of the offered services including optimization of equipment usage
  • Ensure company maintains valid insurance policies, commercial licenses, trade licenses, valid contracts, agreements, authorization from various government agencies and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitors Performance and training needs of direct reports in order to maximize subordinate and functional performance in the pursuit of functional objectives.
  • Ensure the effective achievement of functional objectives through the leadership of the department – setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal – in order to maximise subordinate and departmental performance.
  • Prepares the Teleport Department budget with the Network Operations Director and monitors financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.

Minimum Qualifications:

BS Electrical or Telecom Engineering or equivalent degree

Minimum Experience:

10-15 years’ experience in Teleport Site Station with 3 years’ experience as a Team Lead in a Teleport Sites
