Es’hailSat, the Qatar Satellite Company, selects Kratos’ Integral Systems Europe to build Es’hailSat’s first Network Operations Centre

Major Milestone for Es’hail 1 Satellite Program

Doha, 16th September, 2012 –Es’hailSat, the Qatar Satellite Company, today announced that Integral Systems Europe S.A.S (“ISE”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc., has been selected to provide Es’hailSat’s Network Operations and Satellite Payload Monitoring Centre (NOC) in Doha, Qatar. 

The provision of the high-tech operations Centre marks another major milestone in the Es’hail 1 satellite program.  Es’hail 1, Qatar’s first satellite, is scheduled for launch in Q2 2013.

Under the terms of the contract signed at the World Satellite Business Week event in Paris, France, ISE will design, build, and test the system in ISE’s integration facility in Labege, near Toulouse, France, prior to shipping to, and installing in Qatar.

Es’hailSat’s NOC will manage access to our satellite fleet, starting with Es’hail 1.  The Centre is to be manned 24/7 to guarantee and coordinate the delivery of high-quality services to our customers.  Our experienced engineers will continuously monitor the TV channels, business services and other data/voice streams transmitted through our satellites.  The Es’hailSat NOC integrates state-of-the-art technologies to allow automatic problem detection and quick problem troubleshooting and resolution.

The NOC agreement was signed in Paris by Mr. Ali Al Kuwari, Es’hailSat’s CEO, and Mr. Bruno Dupas, President of ISE.

Commenting on the contract, Es’hailSat’s CEO, Ali Ahmed Al Kuwari said, “We are pleased to be working with ISE on this project. ISE provides satellite ground systems to world leading satellite companies and has supported more than 200 different satellite missions across the globe. The establishment of our Network Operations and Satellite Payload Monitoring Centre in Doha is an integral part of our satellite program and marks another key milestone in our plan to become a leading satellite operator in the Middle East and North Africa region.”

With its first satellite, Es’hail 1, alreadyunder construction and future satellites planned, Es’hailSat will be able to supply the necessary capacity to enable its customers to substantially increase their communications capability, particularly in broadcasting in HD and 3D services over the MENA region. 

Es’hailSat aims to provide high quality, independent satellite services to customers throughout the Middle East and North Africa and to support Qatar’s commitment to meeting the sophisticated communications infrastructure Qatar is putting in place to host FIFA’s World Cup in 2022.
